Dermal fillers are popular for their ability to provide facial enhancements with minimally invasive injections. Restylane is an award-winning, CE-marked dermal filler, recognised for its ability to deliver a natural-looking, youthful appearance and a radiant complexion.
But what exactly is Restylane, and what is it used for?
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a brand of dermal fillers, formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA)–a moisture boosting substance naturally occurring in the body. Developed by Galderma, a pioneer in aesthetic injectables, Restylane boasts over 25 years of clinical safety proven worldwide. It’s suitable for various skin tones and types, providing incredible rejuvenating results.
What is Restylane Used For?
Restylane fillers can be used for a wide range of treatments, including adding volume to the face, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, and sculpting facial contours.
The brand has a selection of products, each tailored to a specific cosmetic concern:
The Restylane Range
-
Restylane Kysse: Designed for natural-looking lip enhancements.
-
Restylane Lyft: Designed to restore facial volume and smooth out deep facial lines and skin folds.
-
Restylane Defyne: Designed to smooth dynamic wrinkles, such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds. It can also be used for mild–to-moderate chin retrusion.
-
Restylane Refyne: Designed to smooth and soften moderate smile lines.
-
Restylane Volyme: Designed to restore lost volume and enhance facial contours in the cheeks, chin, and jawline areas.
-
Restylane Eyelight: Designed to reduce under-eye shadows and add volume to the tear trough area.
How does Restylane Work?
Restylane works by replenishing hyaluronic acid (HA) in the skin, plumping and hydrating it to achieve a more youthful appearance. It’s formulated into a gel and injected into the skin to add volume to targeted areas, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and sculpt facial contours.
It is designed to mimic the body’s natural hyaluronic acid (HA) and seamlessly integrates with it for a natural-looking enhancement.
Does Restylane Dissolve?
As it is made from HA, Restylane can be dissolved either manually or naturally. The results of the filler will last anywhere between six and 12 months, depending on the amount injected, the treatment area, and the client’s metabolism. Over time, the filler will naturally break down and dissolve within the body.
Alternatively, if a client is unhappy with their results, the filler can be removed using hyaluronidase, which dissolves the HA particles to reverse the effects of the dermal filler.
